New Year's Surprise?

Tuesday 02 January 2007 at 9:31 pm. I wanted to start the year of right by writing a piece on this site (it was about time) and I spend Xmas thinking about it... Got lots of things to say, but wanted to keep it related to (herbal) medicine. And I blanked... Even chatting to some of my fellow herbies didn't give me a faintest idea what to write about. Till an hour ago...

I've just come home from my holiday and before i went i made a cream for 'the other man in the house', 'cause he had some kind of infection (probably fungal) which caused a very bad itch (amongst other things). He had already been to the hospital and was prescribed a very strong steroid, that did not seem to improve the condition but did not make it any worse either. So finally, after 3 years of studying and half-a-year of living in Holland, i was allowed to put my skills into practice and made a cream... No clue what to expect of course when one makes a medicine from scratch, and just taking my tutors advice: i quote, "herbal medicine is something you make up where ever you go", I used my knowledge (think you do need a bit of that at least) and intuition to make this cream the day before i went on holiday and left it with lots of instructions and warnings not knowing if it was going to be used...

9 days later: everything has cleared completely!!! No redness, no inflammation, no shedding of skin, and (probably most important) no itch. I still can't believe it has worked... Okay it was in combination with steroids, but still, isn't it great that traditional and orthodox drugs do complement each other?

Hi girl!
Like I promised you, I read the site :)
Love love love your final sentence: ‘isn’t it great that traditional and orthodox drugs do complement each other’? Truth as a cow :) (I know, bad Dutch English, but I like the frase so much * innocent smile *).

Well, my darling, it’s time to go to sleep (but you know me, I usually get my energy boosts late at night * grmpf *). If you read this before Thursday: lots and lots of good luck with your exam! And remember: ‘Het is niet jouw fout, je bent gewoon leuk!’ (and in this case, you should replace ‘leuk’ with ‘steengoed’ ;))

Big kiss, Miekje
