His sweaters

Friday 02 February 2007 at 07:06 am. At home I prefer to wear his sweaters. They’re warm, comfy, smell like him and big enough to live in. But a couple of years ago I was in between his sweaters, so I bought myself a big I-don’t-need-a-man-sweater. It was grey and size XXXL (I’m a S). I looked absolutely ridiculous with this sweater, but there was no-one to complain, was there? After a couple of weeks living in my I-don’t-need-a-man-sweater, I met him. And he slowly turned my world upside down. I didn’t dare to wear my favourite sweater, what if he would accidentally see me? Disaster! So I made a more fitting version, in black fleece with a big collar. Now, three years later, this black fleece is completely worn out. (Even though I prefer to wear one of his in the house.) A good rummage through my stash of fabrics brought the solution: a bordeaux, a grey and a grey-black-brown fleece… waiting to be sowed. Using the same pattern as three years ago, I made two sweaters. A slight variation in collars makes them look the same and yet completely different. Although they’re completely comfortable to wear and look great, they’re not his sweaters. So I’m thinking to sow the last fabric, the grey one, into a sweater for him. And borrow it when he’s not looking…
