Okay, i know i don't always pronounce things the right way... But sometimes it might not be me... I mean a z is pronounced as 'zed' not as 'zee' (at least from my point of view). By the way, it makes it easier to distinguish between the z and the v... Luckily more people seem to struggle with this difference.
So even though they didn't get my conformation number first time round i finally managed to get my e-ticket no!!!
Team-work
I believe we make a lovely team: I decide we're going to prepare dinner for his parents. I make suggestions about what to cook. He chooses what it'll be this time. I make a shopping list. He does the shopping. We prepare dinner together. The dishwasher takes care of the dishes.
Easter dinner:
spring spinach soup with buttered salmon and chive cream;
honey roast lamb;
broccoli and paloise sauce;
orange-glazed carrots;
new potatoes;
white and dark chocolate cake.
Yum!
Good (?) Friday
He confirmed it last week: "Yes, you've got a test next Friday." So we studied. We checked our teaching-schedule and our e-mail the day before. Yes, it was still on, and we arrived at the hospital at the crack of day (okay, well, 8am), only to find it deserted. We waited for about an hour. Nobody showed up. We went to the ward. No tutor to be found.
Mmmm... bank-holiday weekend you say?

Technology
One used to be able to get a new, clean white coat from a lady behind a desk. One would just go up to her, and ask her. Normally her reply would be: "I'm sorry, but i haven't got your size anymore. Would you like to get a different size?" And one would get a small instead of an extra-small.
But 2 weeks ago they dispersed themselves of this lady, and got themselves a machine. Saves a lot of hassle... of course. First of all, they had to issue my pass, and issued me with the wrong coat ("no machine, i don't need the uni-sex, i need the doctor's one"). Then, last week they ran out of my size, and i couldn't get a different size (of course). Yesterday, there were NO coats whatsoever. And today, i could actually even change my size (cos my size wasn't available yet again). But unfortunately for the machine i'm not going to swop my ES coat for an EL one! I'll prob drown...
Did i say that?
"Hello?"
"Hello?"
*silence*
"Who am i talking to?"
"Well, i've just been called by this number 4 times..."
"Oh, yeah, i was trying to get hold of my wife. But i dialed the wrong number... just about... yeah... 4 times... You must be thinking: 'what is this old man calling me for?'"
"Oh well, that doesn't matter... you're not the first one."

Spring clean
Okay, i might be a bit early, but hey, it's an early spring anyway... And i've already seen the Galium and Urtica appear...
It is amazing how much stuff one (ie me) can collect in about 4 wks! I went to my nana's place with one bag and i returned with 5! But i managed to get her house cleaned in about 2.5 hrs, and now i'm unpacking and cleaning my room (again). Let's hope that, for once, i'll manage to clean the whole room...
A day at work (29)
"Reception, how can I help you?"
"Hi. One of our residents is not well, can you page a MD?"
"There are several MDs in today, which one shall I call?"
"Don't know her name, but it's the young one..."
I guess it's a compliment... ![]()
Feeling stupid...
I've just finished a beautiful green skirt. Comfortable. Sporty. Black stitching. Asymmetric seam. Tunnels and black stoppers. Typical 'queck' skirt. Except for one thing... it's a European size 38 and I'm a 36.
Whoops. Anyone interested?
