Traditions
Saturday 05 January 2008 at 7:13 pm. There are lots of traditions within herbal medicine (not only within herbal medicine of course). And of course every herbalists, even within one tradition, works in his or her own way. But to notice this much difference between countries was something i didn't expect. They both claim to draw from the same tradition, but Holland seems to lag behind. The books they use seem to be from the 1970's or before, and some of the herbs can only be found in books from the 1700 and 1800's. Despite being a bit frustrated by this fact i decided to wait and see... As expected they do work, but without the scientific evidence nobody will take it seriously... It remains a difficult subject...three comments
