A male dominancy thing
Wednesday 16 April 2008 at 08:10 am.My associative mind has made some strange connections in the past. E.g. 'holding a cup of tea' is associated with 'safe' and 'a man' with 'be alert'. Some (mostly men) around me enjoy making sounds (whistling, tapping, etc.) In my mind this is linked to animal behaviour. Male-animals make sounds to show off their dominancy, to scare and to impress. So, men making non-communicative sounds isn't a good thing.
In the presence of men, I'm already on the alert (nothing personal, it's just the gender) and if you show of your dominancy (by making non-communicative sounds) I stop feeling any comfort I might had left and want to run for a cup of tea.
So please, stop whistling!
