This week, it wasn't 'Saturday cooking day' but 'Friday cooking day' since i was cooking with my housemate who works on Sat. And about a month ago i promised her to teach her how to bake a cake. Not so difficult one would say. I thought so too. Till i realised i had to convert things into cups (which is not that difficult) but that makes it harder to remember the recipe by heart. So i decided to be stubborn and took a cup of everything (1 cup of butter, sugar, flour), added a dash of vanilla extract (not the imitation one!), and almost forgot the baking powder (took half a tsp, which luckily worked out perfectly) and put the whole thing in the oven at 350F.

After 15 mins i realised that last week's pie frustrations might not have been due to the recipe, but the oven!! So i put the oven up to 400F. And the cake came out perfect after 40 mins!
