Ehm. Happy new year?

Thursday 21 January 2010 at 3:49 pm

I know I'm late... but it's kind of scary to post this online. 'Coz everyone can see, everyone can read and everyone can hold me to them. So I took my time writing these 10 for 20-ten.

  1. Take more pictures (and learn to use my SLR)
  2. Learn to grow a (biodynamic) vegetable garden
  3. Hiking
  4. Complete my residency
  5. Make pumpkinmarmalade
  6. Piss my pants laughing (once)
  7. Learn 'one shoulder hooping'
  8. Write regularly (not nessecarily blogging)
  9. Bring my own lunch to work
  10. Dance in public (and feel good about it)

Dreams

A very prestigious project but it looks like it's really on a roll!!!

Sticky

Friday 08 January 2010 at 1:33 pm

When they say: 'sticky rice' they definitely mean STICKY. It had a tendency to stick to everything that came near to it. Luckily one can easily keep it under control with some water and rice vinegar. Yes, i had my first go at making some sushi and i must admit (as did he) that it turned out well. Plus if i hadn't told him it was vegetarian sushi he wouldn't have noticed.

Under construction

As you might have noticed... our site has changed. And it will even change more (or rather change to more or less the original - at least the same links, description etc). So bare with us, it might take a while.

Incognito

*His mum looking at pictures of BF and me*
"Mmmm... if you hadn't told me this was Roosje i would have thought you'd taken some other girl with you."

*Looks at a picture of me and one of his friends*
"I didn't know he got himself a girl for this ball?"

*sniggering from my side*
"Aaah, oh, sorry, it's you, yeah, now i recognise the dress"

Time for traditions

Sunday 03 January 2010 at 10:43 am

On the one hand i don't like (certain (it used to be most)) traditions, but this is one the ones i do like. Not New Year's resolutions, but a theme of the year.
Let us quickly look back at the last year's theme: "staying in my own dream", something i believe i have managed relatively well. During the year i have realised that my dream contains lots of herbs (they have been lacking quite a lot), and not so much the hospital. It were the internships that have been the cause of my 'disappearance from the earth' this year. Luckily i've passed all of them and have only a few left before i finish my degree *hooray*. Only 29 weeks to go, so hopefully i'll be able to get my degree in the year 2010 (this depends on my Uni and when they assign me my final 12 weeks). It was also thanks to the BF and quite a few of my friends that have been pushing me back into my dream at times that the believed i wasn't part of my own dream anymore (a often they were right). There's still a lot of work to be done re this subject.
From all the (what i consider to be) appropriate themes i came up with for 2010, i've decided to settle for "meditation". Meditate in the sense of meditating on what i really want to do after i finish this course, going into nature to relax (and get the necessary exercise), and getting quiet in my mind. Hopefully i'll be able to stick to my tradition and give you an update next year *wink*
