Despite her grandmothers warning us 'there are better and wiser things to do with the time in your life' (and her grandmother knows, 'coz she lived in Indonesia and she's the one who gave us the over 50-year-old recipe), we did it. We spent about an hour and a half getting the thing in and out of the oven, and all the layers baked. But we loved it... and we especially loved the result!
(Did you count them? There are 19 layers...)
